Dr. Sloan's research takes an integrated approach to seeking solutions for urban environmental problems by developing from urban and agricultural waste byproducts beneficial soil amendments and growing mediums. He identifies and tests best management practices for using newly developed products in residential homes, commercial greenhouses and nurseries. Additionally, he investigates the effect of soil amendments and other landscape management practices on soil chemical processes, water use and water quality.
