Plant Sales
The Grayson County Master Gardeners dig
and divide plants from their own gardens, grow plants from seed, propagate
plants from cuttings, and harvest flower seeds to sell to the public at their
annual spring and fall plant sales in the Sherman-Denison area. The Spring Plant
Sale was held on the Grayson County Courthouse Lawn on Saturday, April 22 (Earth
Day). The Fall Plant Sale was held in conjunction with the Sherman
Arts Fest on Saturday, September 16, on the Sherman Municipal Building grounds.
Blue awnings and the Grayson County Master Gardeners banner indicate that you have found the place for quality plants that will survive the Texas heat. Colleen Friman and Sue Crank ready the Grayson County plant sale booth prior to the spring sale. Sue Crank, Richard McGowan, Colleen Frimann and Phyllis Vaughn label and price plants prior to the spring sale. Many local residents found bargain prices on herbs, vegetables, roses and other flowering perennials grown by the Grayson County Master Gardeners at the Spring Plant Sale. Under the shade of the blue awning, Master Gardener Phyllis Vaughn collects the proceeds from the Spring Plant Sale while a local gardener continues to shop. Grayson County Master Gardeners are hard at work organizing the booth and pricing plants at the Fall Plant Sale, held in conjunction with the Sherman Arts Fest. Grayson County Master Gardeners take turns staffing the Plant Information Booth at the Fall Plant Sale. Horticulture information is always free to the public.
