Cotton is a major crop in Texas.  We currently have two cotton fertility studies.

Cotton Response to N fertilization

    This is a collaborative project with Dr. Frank Hons in College Station.  The objective is to develop a soil test that accurately predicts whether the cotton crop will respond to nitrogen fertilization.

Cotton Response to K fertilization

    Blackland  prairie soils generally have a high potassium content, but they also have a high K-fixing capacity.  The objective of this study is to deterimine if cotton responds to K fertilization.
